Our purpose & mission

Love God, Grow Together, Serve the World
This simple statement sums up why we do what we do as a church;

it's our purpose.

Our desire is to encourage people to have a relationship with God (Love God), help them grow spiritually and relationally through small groups (Grow Together) while discovering and using their gifts, skills, and talents to serve others (Serve the World) so the world may be radically changed by God.

We believe Christ gave us a mission to make disciples who make disciples.

In 2010, our church developed four initiatives to guide us in living out our purpose and accomplishing our mission:

Spiritual Development:
To see believers develop into fully-devoted followers of Christ through Biblical practices and teaching.

Community Impact:
To show Christ by meeting the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Shelby County and Eastern Jefferson County.

Global Missions:
To practice the Great Commission as the charge for every SBC Christian to go make disciples, share the gospel and teach the lost – at home, in our community, and throughout the world.

Master Plan:
To develop a master plan for facilities and property that fulfill the initiatives of the church.

Our heartbeat is to follow Christ into the world to share the gospel and make disciples who are committed and healthy.

who we are affects what we do

As you get to know us, hopefully you will see our heart for God and His creation. Since we believe that God loved the world so much that He sent Jesus Christ to us, we desire to proclaim that good news through word and deed.

We want to invite you on the journey with us.

Whether through our Serve60 and SIMPly Love ministries to our neighbors and the community or by carrying God's love across state/national/international lines, Simpsonville Baptist Church is compelled to see God's Kingdom come here on Earth as it is in Heaven.
